Swami Vivekananda,The great Indian

The birth of Naren and his childhood days
Swami Vivekananda born on 12th January 1863,the auspicious day of Makara Sankaranti. His mothers name was Bhuvaneshwari Devi.Considering him to be born  through the blessings of Bireswar Shiva, she named him as Bireswar. She affectionately called him
Biley.Later he was formally given the name Narendranath Dutta.Everyone called him just Naren
As a child,Naren was very playful and naughty. He would tease his sisters and others at home.It was very difficult to control him.On such occasions his mother discovered that the best way to bring him under control was to pour water on his head while uttering Shiva,Shiva
In his childhood days also he was very keen to help others. He had an inherent desire to help others. Many wandering monks and beggars came to the Dutta house hold seeking food and clothing. If the young Naren happened to see them,he would simply give away whatever articles he found nearby.

Naren possessed a sharp intellect and sound reasoning skills. He would always examine whatever he heard and then act.As part of their play ,Naren and his friends would climb up and hang from the branches of a large tree in the neighbourhood. An old man tried to frighten them by saying,'There is a monster living on this tree.It will suffocate you to death'.he children got frightened and wanted to go away from here. But Naren remarked calmly.Friends,we have been playing like this for a long time and we climbed on the tree several times. If there was actually a monster on the tree,it would have killed us long ago.He continued to play there.

A courageous Character:
Naren had a daredevil attitude right from his childhood days.He would face everything with courage, without caring for his personal comfort and safety.Once he went to attend a temple festival along with his young cousin. As both walked on the road, suddenly a horse-drawn cart came crashing with tremendous speed, with its horse gone wild.Naren's cousin was about to be crushed under its wheels when Naren instantly rushed and pulled him out.It was quite a risky action as the cart may have crushed both of them. When Naren's mother learnt of this incident later, she blessed Naren, with tears of joy in her eyes,Yes Naren always be a man

CAN ONE SEE GOD???
As Naren grew, his sharp intellect  and spirit of inquiry began to raise many doubts about the existence of god.Confused but eager to resolve his conflicts,he went to many eminent scholars of the day and asked them, but no one could give him a direct and clear reply.

Meeting with Sri Ramakrishna was a turning point in Naren's life...
That will continue
